Travelling with Leroy V.W. Brown

So far so good! We’ve had Leroy out to visit the lakes around our neck of the woods about three times now.

Going for a Sunday afternoon drive to Lac Le Jeune (and enjoying supper and a campfire).

Canoeing at Paul Lake (forgot my camera), and  a weekend campout at Herald Park. With all the rain we’ve been having, we scored big time with a weekend of perfect camping weather – hot! We swam in the lake and enjoyed sitting around the campfire late into the evening when friends came for a visit.

Now, with these next two photos, it’s important to note their placement..it means everything. One thing Westfalias are not known for is their speed and power. My husband was quite proud of the fact that we passed a truck as we were traveling uphill (a slight incline, but still, a hill).

Here we are approaching a truck…

Here we are near to overtaking the truck…

Yes, we did pass him. I just don’t have the pic to prove it.

Thatta boy, Leroy!

We are looking forward to two long trips this summer, as well. So far, so good!

  2. Couldn't help but hear "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Crochet playing in my head. But of course in this case Bad as in totally cool, awesome, rad, etc. ;o)

    1. Me, too! I loved Jim Croce's music when I was younger! And of course, I agree, that the 'bad' in Leroy really means awesome. :)

  3. It sounds like Leroy is working out just fine. I hope both of your longer trips this summer are downhill both ways. :-)

  4. I had to giggle about passing the truck while on an incline. Being passed by everyone at all times was one of the things that always drove me crazy when we had our Westfalia. It was always such a sense of accomplishment if we got to pass somebody.
