Spoiled

Yes, we were.

Imagine the "Romance Package” at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort Hotel.  Dinner  reservations (with a live band and a dance floor) at the famed Copper Room Restaurant.. His and Hers Massage booked for us… Champagne delivered to our room. Swimming and lounging to our heart’s content in five different pools! And we didn’t have to organize any of it! Two nights away from everything! It was a perfect getaway to celebrate 30 years of marriage. A little reprieve in the midst of a busy September.

Our children generously planned, organized and paid for the entire thing. And believe me, it was GENEROUS!  Are they great, or what?! Well, admittedly, the daughter did most of the ‘leg work’. She is a great planner and organizer, that one! But they all made it happen.

Coincidentally, we had celebrated our very first anniversary at the same hotel (although it has changed in 30 years!).

We felt very blessed and I had no idea the surprise would be something this wonderful. We couldn’t say thank you enough.

The weather included some heavy clouds and rain, but that didn’t dampen our spirits! We swam in the outdoor pool with rain drizzling down—it was great!

The most hilarious thing was seeing some of the older women wearing bathing caps (I don’t count myself as older…yet). Not the caps of yesteryear, but these huge poofy things that wouldn’t flatten the hair. They looked hilarious! Dave said he’d disown me if I ever showed up in one of those. ;)

I’d say the majority of the hotel guests were older than us. Maybe it was the soothing Hot Springs that attracted them. Healing waters for sore muscles and achey joints. (Not that I have any experience with that.. much..yet).

The only pool we didn’t go into was the ‘adults only’ pool. Somehow I find that amusing.

Staying at this resort really was the best way to celebrate this very special occasion! We won’t forget this for a looooong time (we hope!).
