I was sitting with my three year old grandson at the table, side by side. Little Clark was quietly playing with the playdough and matchbox trucks he loves, moving 'rocks' and 'logs' from one spot to another. I was working on a little knitting project and fiddling with my phone, trying to find the perfect kids Christmas playlist.
"Oma, play with me", he said quietly, looking up at me with his beautiful blue eyes. I stopped and looked at him. He gave me a heart-melting smile and turned, wrapping his little arms around me.
"Oma, play with me," he repeated, maintaining eye contact, his little chin pointing up.
"Of course, sweetie", I replied, putting down my knitting, smiling at him. We chatted, two workers loading up trucks with rocks.
